INK Entertainment is thrilled to announce the launch of Yorkville Murals, an artistic initiative celebrating contemporary muralism from September 12 to 14, 2019. The festival will feature local and international artists RISK, Ben Johnston, Mr. Brainwash, Whatisadam and more. Yorkville Murals will transform the courtyard of 99 Yorkville Avenue into a paradise of public art and will become a hub for social gatherings, as well as elevated cultural experiences.
“The first mural in the courtyard of 99 Yorkville was completed last year on the exterior of Taglialatella Galleries by legendary graffiti artist RISK,” says Alan Ganev, Director, Taglialatella Galleries and Yorkville Murals. “It was something new and exciting in an otherwise beige space. It has been so well received that it sparked the idea of a larger scale festival.”
Starting this June, the walls along Sofia Restaurant & Bar, Taglialatella Galleries, Christian Louboutin, and Spaces will be beautified by Wynwood-Walls style murals leading up to the launch of the festival in September. Alongside these murals, Yorkville Murals will features artist talks, panels, film screenings and pop-up parties. The current festival sponsors include Romeos Gin.
