Yorkville Murals – the artistic initiative spearheaded by INK Entertainment and Taglialatella Galleries Toronto – launched this past weekend in the heart of Yorkville. The three day festival is aiming to be an annual event which celebrates contemporary muralism and public art. Through the creation of of artistic murals inside the courtyard of 99 Yorkville Ave, and the implementation of cultural activations, the project is focused on making Yorkville a landmark in Toronto for art and ultimately, a tourist destination.
Among the murals showcase, the festival also featured installations, exhibitions, panel discussions, a movie screening of Agnes Varda’s Faces Places, as well as a block party – presented by View The Vibe – which launched the event featuring a DJ, canapés provided by Sofia Restaurant & Bar and cocktails by Romeo’s Gin.
